Physiotherapy (PT), occupational therapy (OT) and speech and language pathologist (SLP)  is highly skilled profession. These are Rehabilitation professions that re-mediates impairments and promotes mobility, function, and quality of life through examination, diagnosis, prognosis and physical intervention.   It is their skill of analysis, diagnosis and therapy that provides the best possible results, which helps changing the impairment, activity limitation and participation restriction of subjects with pain, difficulty, disability and handicap.  This special skill, is way beyond just the work/labor they do during their assessment and treatment. Therefore since therapists  are such skillful professions, therapist practicing in this professions get paid for their skills and not their labor.
